It has been quite a year of excitement and success for the Winward Racing family.
On the performance front, the team is dominating in both competing efforts of the No. 57 Mercedes-AMG GT3 and No. 57 Mercedes-AMG GT4. Competing in the premiere IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Michelin Pilot Challenge, the team currently holds the number one spot in the GTD class championship. With 4 GTD class wins so far out of 5 races for the season, the Winward No. 57 AMG GT3 is currently one class win short of tying the IMSA GTD record for most wins in a season. The GTD team most recently was awarded the IMSA VP Racing Front Runner Award, for the most laps led in the most races for the first half of the season, and tallied another podium at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with a P2 finish.
On the home front, Winward has been leading an equally exciting effort as they wrap up construction on their new 40,000 sq. ft. home on Space Center Boulevard.
Winward Racing and Crain Group Construction started design on the new WWR facility back in 2021, with construction breaking ground in late 2022. After a year and a half, construction is finally coming to a close and a new workshop for the team is on the horizon. The team plans to make the move and begin work out of the new facility in the fall of 2024, after a busy summer run that comes with the IMSA series schedule.​
Winward has been operating in Pasadena, TX since 2016 and is excited to make the move into the neighboring new facility that showcases the effort and dedication that goes in to the team.
COMING SOON: Winward Auto - Automotive Vinyl, Detailing and more!
With the opening of the brand new Winward Racing home base comes Winward Auto - A full service automotive vinyl wrap shop located within the Winward Racing facility. Winward and vinyl technician Delancey Davison have teamed up to service the Houston area in automotive vinyl wrap and commercial wrap, PPF, detailing and more.
Delancey joined Winward Racing in 2022, taking on the role of the team's vinyl wrap technician. Delancey is in charge of the wrap and design of the team's racecars and haulers.
Facility Tours
Once operating out of the brand new facility, Winward Racing plans to offer monthly scheduled tours of the workshop to the public. Guests will have the chance to speak with the drivers, owners and crew, and get an inside look at the work that goes behind running a successful motorsports team.
